Happy 100th Birthday to Wrigley, From a Cubs Fan

I wanted to write a birthday piece to commemorate the 100th year of Wrigley Field. I just couldn’t find the right words.

I’m not a Cubs fan. I’ve never taken in a ball game from atop the ivy. I’ve never visited Wrigleyville. So I knew, no matter how well I wrote, nothing I could say would do that ballpark, so steeped in history and nostalgia, justice.

Lucky for me, I met a Chicago die hard at Spring Training this year. And even luckier, he wrote a reflection on what Wrigley Field has meant to him to commemorate it’s anniversary.

Here’s a link to his post.

Michael Bolling is representing the Cubs in the MLB Fan Cave this year. I highly recommend you keep tabs on his adventure there in the big apple, and give him a follow on Twitter @mikealxbolling.
