Costas Abandons Broadcast Booth for Potty Break

It turns out the infallible Bob Costas – sports broadcasting’s immortal son – is fallible after all.

During the call of last night’s Mariners-Yankees game, Costas was forced to remove his headset and bend the knee to nature’s call during the bottom of the seventh inning.

Urgently having to pee, apparently Costas had tried to go during the middle of the inning only to find every stall at Yankee Stadium’s press row filled up. And so instead he offered color man John Smoltz the opportunity to brush up on his play-by-play skills.

No matter how legendary your talents, the call of nature is one that simply will not be ignored. But it was good to hear Costas able to make light of his need for an emergency potty break.
